ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

Hello. Ruby is a professional psychotherapist (clinical therapist) who knows how to speak to a person in a real, straight forward way while remembering to also be gentle when necessary. She listens with an open mind and in a non-defensive manner. Ruby provides careful attention to track your concerns and then give direct, honest feedback. She practices patient-centered therapy or put another way, she will place you at the center of therapeutic focus. Ruby lessens the anxiety in the therapeutic relationship so that there can be a collaboration in understanding and making changes in your world. Together, Ruby will help you find a way through what's happening to you.

EXPERIENCE

I have 21 years of experience in doing therapy. I've worked with toddlers, elementary school children, families, teens, young adults, middle aged adults and older adults from Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County and Riverside County. I comfortably treat mild, moderate and severe levels of mental conditions. I have decades of working with people from different socio-economic backgrounds, education, LGBTQ+, substance use, gang affiliated, and correctional detention history. CURRENTLY, I treat: depression, anxiety, panic disorder, gender dysphoria, ADHD, and adults learning they are on the Autism Spectrum throughout my career and on a regular basis.

THE QUICK LOW DOWN ON DECIDING IF YOU NEED THERAPY

  • You've been more emotional than usual (crying or having panic attacks) and are having trouble controlling it

  • Loss of any kind (death of family member or pet)

  • If you have relationship PTSD

  • You had a trauma and you need to get back to your regular self, if not better

  • People have been telling you to "talk to someone about that".

  • Be effective in the moment; have better control over emotions and improve problem-solving; develop better people skills to have less conflict; and learn to tolerate distress and rise above the negativity that stress plays on your behavior.

  • DBT (Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Distress Tolerance)
